Each year, DSACO holds its annual Down Syndrome Festival & 5K. This event gives the association and our families the chance to raise awareness about Down syndrome and is the main fundraising event for the organization. All money raised will stay in the central Oklahoma area to fund the many programs, activities, and services.

The fun begins at 8 a.m at the Myriad Botanical Gardens with our annual 5K. The Awareness Walk will start at the intersection of Hudson Ave. and Sheridan Ave. at 9:30 a.m. Immediately following, join us at the Myriad Botanical Gardens for festival activities, which include raffles, moon bounces, a petting zoo, games, music, and much more.

Start Your Team Today!
Family members, friends and co-workers are forming teams to walk, raise money and celebrate people with Down syndrome.  Select a team name and start raising money by conducting a letter writing campaign or e-mail campaign, asking for donations online and recruiting as many walkers as possible. Many teams bring team posters or wear team t-shirts for the walk. Register your team by completing the enclosed Team Registration Form and mailing it to the DSACO office or by registering online at www.dsfestivaland5k.com. Once registered, you can start collecting donations online, by cash, check or credit card. Please contact DSACO at 405-600-9981 or info@dsaco.org with any questions.

Please help us make this event a success. Your support is essential to ensure our organization so we can continue providing valuable services and resources to the central Oklahoma community. The Down Syndrome Festival and 5K is DSACO's biggest annual fundraiser, and this year it's no different. All of the money raised will stay in our local community as it is used to provide microwave-based cooking classes for teen and adults, free tutoring services, new parent packets to new families and medical professionals, outreach materials for education and medical, scholarships for families and self-advocates to attend the National Down Syndrome Congress Convention, as well as many other resources efforts!

Teams raising at least $2,500*
• Child's individual photo will be featured on the DSACO website
• 5 free raffle entries
• One-year subscription to Kylee's Kitchen (24 classes) or 5 hours of private tutoring with Karn Wallis

Teams raising at least $5,000*
• Free family photo session with professional photographer, Paige Powell Productions (family will be given three images)
• 10 free raffle entries
• All prizes listed above (please note special staked sign deadline)

Teams raising at least $10,000*
• Entered into drawing for travel package to 2023 National Down Syndrome Convention
(transportation, hotel, registration fees) up to $1,500 of expenses covered.

Top 10 Teams will be acknowledged at the Festival. 

Raffle Packages

Team Captains are also able to fundraise by selling raffle tickets. Raffle tickets can be purchased through the website. Just have your family and friends register as an "Awareness Walk Participant" (free) and select your team name in the "Add Details" page of registrations. Please note, this may take 1-2 weeks for these to be attributed to your team fundraising total as they are entered manually. If it's easier for you, I can also send you a pdf of the raffle ticket. You will then be responsible for printing, selling, and turning in the raffle tickets and money into the office. Raffle tickets may also be printed and picked up at the office upon request.
