Each year, DSACO holds its annual Down Syndrome Festival & 5K. This event gives the association and our families the chance to raise awareness about Down syndrome and is the main fundraising event for the organization. All money raised will stay in the central Oklahoma area to fund the many programs, activities, and services.

The fun begins at 8 a.m. at the Myriad Botanical Gardens with our annual 5K and 1-mile fun run. The Awareness Walk will start at the intersection of Hudson Ave. and Sheridan Ave. at 9:30 a.m. Immediately following, join us at the Myriad Botanical Gardens for festival activities, which include raffles, moon bounces, games, music, and much more.

Start Your Team Today!
Family members, friends and co-workers are forming teams to walk, raise money and celebrate people with Down syndrome.  Select a team name and start raising money by conducting a letter-writing campaign or e-mail campaign, asking for donations online, and recruiting as many walkers as possible. Many teams bring team posters or wear team t-shirts for the walk.  Register to run or register under the T-shirt or Raffle Ticket Purchase ONLY option and create your team in the "Add Details" section. Once registered, you can start collecting donations online, by cash, check or credit card. Please help us make this event a success. Your support is essential to ensure our organization so we can continue providing valuable services and resources to the central Oklahoma community. The Down Syndrome Festival and 5K is DSACO's biggest annual fundraiser, and this year it's no different. All of the money raised will stay in our local community as it is used to provide microwave-based cooking classes for teen and adults, free tutoring services, new parent packets to new families and medical professionals, outreach materials for education and medical, scholarships for families and self-advocates to attend the National Down Syndrome Congress Convention, as well as many other resources efforts!

Teams raising at least $500*

• Photo of loved one with Down syndrome on a staked sign to be placed on 5K route (Fundraising deadline for team sign is Sept. 9th)
• Team photo with J. Holland Photography
• Down Syndrome Festival and 5K t-shirt;
• 2025 Bountiful Blessings Calendar

Teams raising at least $1,000*

• Team will receive a social media shout out
• 2 free raffle entries of your choosing
• All prizes listed above (please note special staked sign deadline)

Teams raising at least $2,500*

• Child's individual photo will be featured on the DSACO website
• 5 free raffle entries of your choosing
• 2 complementary race entries (fun run, 5K, and virtual)
• All prizes listed above (please note special staked sign deadline)

Top 10 teams raising at least $5,000*

• Free family photo session with a professional photographer, Jessi Murray (family will be given three images)
• 10 free raffle entries of your choosing
• All prizes listed above (please note special staked sign deadline) 

Top team raising at least $10,000*

• Team leads Awareness Walk at 2024 Festival
• Travel package to 2025 National Down Syndrome Convention (transportation, hotel, registration fees) up to $1,500 of expenses covered.
• All prizes listed above (please note special staked sign deadline)

Top 10 Teams will be acknowledged at the Festival.
